We surveyed forty Mach-1 pilots and one very stubborn statistician, then ranked every booster in the game. The tier list will start arguments — that's the point.
The Criteria — Because Opinions Need Data
Every booster was scored on three axes: acceleration profile, burn efficiency and synergy with slingshot gates. Forty top-tier pilots rated each on a ten-point scale; the statistician (thanks, Priya) flattened bias by weighting for each pilot's home circuit.
The result is less a tier list than a personality test. The 'correct' booster depends on whether you fly for exits or for spectacle — and the community's split down the middle on which matters more.

The Tiers, Without Mercy
S-tier went to the two boosters that consistently outperformed regardless of pilot style. The bottom tier isn't bad equipment — it's equipment with a personality too strong for most hands.
- S-tier: Afterburner Mk-IV, Whisper Jet — consistent across every circuit type
- A-tier: Comet Rail, Turbine Classic — dominant on technical tracks
- B-tier: the mid-field — strong in the right hands, invisible in the wrong ones
- C-tier: Showboat — spectacular burn profile, catastrophic efficiency
What the Survey Got Wrong (Probably)
Boosters are patched quarterly and the meta shifts — Season 12's fuel-economy tweak pushed two B-tiers within striking distance of A. We'll re-run the survey after the next balance pass and update this list.
The honest advice: fly what fits your hand. A B-tier booster you understand beats an S-tier you fight. The telemetry doesn't care about tier lists — it only records what you actually did with the throttle.
